...we sat on a sofa and reflected on the leadership development exprience that we just delivered. The participants were buzzing, the organiser was delighted and yet we all felt that something was missing. We felt that we touched the surface of leadership but hadn't dived deep to the real issues. In that moment, the idea of DiveLight was born.
When a rock hits water it sends out waves that impact and influence what is around it. This analogy is true for leadership. The actions of a leader (the waves) have significant impact on both people and results, yet most leadership development neglects what creates the biggest point of impact - the leader (the rock). At DiveLight, we have a passion for both.
In our experience, leadership development often focuses on teaching a leader how they should behave. At DiveLight we invite leaders to be real about who they are and how they show up. Once we have focused on the rock itself (the leader), we arm those leaders with tools that compliment their unique style, skills and values to enable their impact (their waves) to be the most effective and empower people to deliver their best results.
Despite a complex, ever changing, world it is the simplest idea or action that can create change. Doesn’t mean its easy though.
We create honest conversations about what people are really thinking, raising the bullshit flag when we know there is one.
Thoughts are great but it’s behaviors over time that get results. We turn creative ideas into practical learning that sticks.
We are all under constant pressure to do things and be something. What if we gave ourselves permission to do and be what is most important to us?
We believe growth happens in a space that allows people to exchange real experiences, try new things and test the unknown. No matter how uncomfortable it gets.
While models, books and online content surround us, we lean into the power of connecting a group to experience something new, fun and relevant.
Have you ever wanted to cut through the fluff and get to the heart of what really matters?
